Sparkle

Have you ever met someone who exudes joy? As you observe them you wonder how can they be like that? How is that possible to be so cheery and positive? As you continue to watch them, do you find yourself wishing you could be more like them? Do they brighten up your day?

I recently read a story about Shirley Temple. Just before the director would shout “Action”, Shirley’s mom would whisper in her ear “Sparkle”. That word reminded Shirley to give full attention to her performance.

I like that word – Sparkle.

According to my Google search, the definition of sparkle is: shine brightly; or be vivacious. I am not a performer but I would like to sparkle and brighten up someone’s day. Even when I’m having a not so good day, I shouldn’t allow my mood to overshadow the sparkle for another person.

“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 (NASB1995)

So, whenever you are around other people, remember to sparkle and brighten up someone’s day. To sparkle is a beautiful thing.
