Spring into April with Anticipation

It’s April! Are you excited? I’m excited. Spring is here. The anticipation of warmer weather,  melting snow, more daylight hours, and so much more to look forward to!

With the melting of the snow and the warmer weather there will soon be new growth appearing. The trees will begin to grow leaves. New shoots of perennials will start to peek through the dead ground. The grass will start to turn green. Birds that have migrated south for the winter will return and share their songs with us. So much to look forward to.

Long walks, hiking, bike riding, driving with the windows open, sitting in the back yard with a cool refreshment on a hot day. Maybe a stop at DQ for an ice cream treat after a long walk sounds so good! Oh, I may have gotten a head of myself…stopping at DQ is more of a summertime activity. I guess there is no bad time for a DQ break, is there?

Easter is this month as well. Remembering that Christ died for our sins and was buried on Good Friday. Then on Easter Sunday we celebrate that He conquered death, was resurrected. He is alive and in heaven preparing a place for those who believe in Him. Because of His great sacrifice we can have eternal life if we believe in Him. Hope.

In 1 Corinthians 15:3b-4 we read, “…that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.”

Then in 1 John 5:13 we read, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.”

For the believer there is hope beyond the grave, because Jesus Christ has opened the door to heaven for us by His death and resurrection.” – Billy Graham

How amazing is that? All the things about Springtime are things to look forward to, to anticipate, but nothing compares to all that was accomplished through Christ’s death and resurrection.

Just as a seed has to die and be buried before it has new growth, Christ died, was buried and  came back to life to give eternal life to those who believe.

As spring brings forth new growth, our hope in Christ can bring new growth in our lives. That is something to be excited about. And that, my friend, is a beautiful thing.
